Ongoing severe congestion at Hutchison’s Yantian International Container Terminal (YICT) in Shenzhen has prompted the port to extend its temporary closure to export containers.
During May 28 – May 30, export heavy containers will not be accepted into the gate at Yantian International Container Terminal; during this period, import heavy containers and empty containers will maintain normal operations.
Beginning May 31, YICT said only laden containers within three days of a vessel’s estimated time of arrival would be accepted until June 6.
