New Traffic Mitigation Fees at Ports in California

Effective August 1, 2025, the Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will an increase 2.84%. This aligns with recent wage increases under the labor agreement between the ILWU and the Pacific Maritime Association. The updated TMF will be $38.78 per TEU and $77.56 for larger containers, applied to non-exempt cargo. Exemptions include empty containers, cargo moving via the Alameda Corridor, transshipment cargo, empty chassis, and bobtail trucks.
