  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has published a website for the most up-to-date information on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) imports or exports. Visit CBP’s COVID-19 Relief Import Site.
  • CBP has stressed that relaying information into the Automated Export System (AES) and any exemption Letters of Attestation (LOAs) into Document Imaging System (DIS) is critical. CBP identifies shipments of interest via AES and if the appropriate information/LOA is available early, CBP can make a determination without having to detain the shipment. Having contact information on LOA is also important in case CBP or FEMA has questions. Finally, CBP’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page is a great resource for importers and exporters. Additional instructions for completing LOAs can be found on the FEMA website.
  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has published a Frequently Asked Questions webpage for over two dozen of the most asked questions related to the recently announced 90-day duty postponement. You can find it here. If you have an additional question, please email CBP at tradeevents@cbp.dhs.gov or otentrysummary@cbp.dhs.gov.
