Announcement: New Tariffs on Pharmaceuticals, Furniture and Heavy Trucks

President Trump announced via social media new tariffs effective October 1, 2025, on pharmaceuticals, furniture, and heavy trucks.

Pharmaceuticals:
- 100% tariff on branded and patented drugs imported into the U.S.
- Exemption for companies currently building or constructing U.S. manufacturing plants.
Furniture:
- 50% tariff on kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and related products.
- 30% tariff on upholstered furniture.
25% tariff on imports of heavy trucks.
